Publication Policy

Scientific Journal of Innovation and Social Sciences Research (SJISSR) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal focusing on business and management sciences.

SJISSR publishes original theoretical and/or applied academic articles written in Turkish or English. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published elsewhere and must not be under evaluation by another journal at the time of submission.

Papers that have previously been presented only as abstracts at scientific meetings may be submitted to SJISSR, provided that they are converted into full article format. An author may not have more than one article published within the same volume of SJISSR.

Manuscript Evaluation Process

All manuscripts submitted to SJISSR first undergo an initial editorial screening. At this stage, submissions are evaluated in terms of technical, formal, and scope-related suitability.

Manuscripts found suitable for further evaluation are then sent to at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer review process. In this process, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

The inclusion of a manuscript in the evaluation process does not guarantee publication. Even if the peer review process results in positive evaluations, the final decision regarding publication and issue placement rests with the Editorial Board.

Originality and Similarity Screening

Authors are required to submit only original and scholarly work. Manuscripts must comply with academic writing standards and must not contain plagiarism, duplication, data fabrication, falsification, salami slicing, ghost authorship, denied authorship, copyright infringement, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Authors are required to conduct plagiarism screening using tools such as Turnitin or iThenticate before submission and upload the plagiarism report together with the manuscript. Submissions with a similarity rate exceeding 20% will be rejected.

Ethics Committee Approval

For research requiring ethics committee approval, authors must upload an official Ethics Committee Approval document during submission. This requirement applies to studies involving surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, experiments, human participants, animals, clinical research, retrospective studies involving personal data, and other research types requiring ethical approval.

If the study does not require ethics committee approval, authors must submit a signed declaration stating this and clearly indicate it within the manuscript.

Open Access and Licensing Policy

SJISSR is an open-access journal. All articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

This license permits users to share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the published material, provided that appropriate credit is given, the material is not used for commercial purposes, and any derivative works are distributed under the same license.

Authors retain the copyright of their work but grant SJISSR the right of first publication. Authors may share or archive their published articles on other platforms, provided that proper citation of the first publication in SJISSR is given.

Publication Fees

Articles accepted following the standard peer review process are published free of charge.

Withdrawal Policy

Manuscripts may be withdrawn upon the written request of the author before the peer review process has commenced. In such cases, the submission will be removed from the system, and the evaluation process will be terminated.

As a general rule, manuscripts for which the peer review process has started or has been completed cannot be withdrawn to protect reviewer effort and editorial integrity.

However, if major issues arise, such as ethical violations, data errors, misrepresentation, copyright problems, or circumstances that fundamentally compromise the scientific reliability of the study, the author(s) must notify the editorial office in writing with justification.

Upon review by the Editorial Board, the manuscript may be withdrawn from evaluation or retracted if deemed necessary.

By submitting a manuscript, authors accept SJISSR’s publication policy, withdrawal policy, author guidelines, and publication ethics principles.
