Scientific Journal of Innovation and Social Sciences Research (SJISSR) adheres to the ethical publishing principles and standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), the Declaration of Helsinki, and the Interuniversity Council of Türkiye (ÜAK).

By submitting a manuscript to SJISSR, authors declare that they have read, understood, and accepted the journal’s publication ethics principles and author guidelines.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is responsible for ensuring that all manuscripts submitted to SJISSR are evaluated based on academic merit, ethical standards, and editorial independence.

Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination based on age, race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, political opinion, institutional affiliation, or social status of the authors.

The Editorial Board investigates all allegations of plagiarism, duplication, data fabrication, falsification, authorship abuse, conflict of interest, copyright infringement, and other forms of academic misconduct.

If ethical violations are identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected, and the Editorial Board will inform the author(s). If such violations are identified after publication, the article may be retracted, and the authors’ affiliated institutions may be notified.

The Editorial Board ensures the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and author information throughout the evaluation process.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for selecting reviewers impartially and ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated objectively, fairly, and scientifically.

Editors monitor conflicts of interest, plagiarism, originality issues, and compliance with ethical requirements. They may reject submissions that lack required ethical permissions or fail to meet the journal’s ethical standards.

Editors are responsible for safeguarding academic integrity, correcting errors when necessary, ensuring the secure archiving of published articles, and taking appropriate measures against misconduct.

Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by political, institutional, personal, or commercial considerations.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors may submit only original and scholarly work. They must ensure that they have made a significant academic contribution to the conception, design, analysis, interpretation, or writing of the study.

Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.

Authors must properly cite all sources used in the manuscript and are responsible for the accuracy of references. They must declare that the work does not infringe upon any intellectual property rights and does not involve plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, or other ethical violations.

All listed authors share responsibility for the submitted and published article. Submission of a manuscript implies acceptance of these conditions and compliance with research and publication ethics principles.

The responsibility for the ideas, opinions, statements, findings, conclusions, and recommendations expressed in published articles rests solely with the author(s). These views do not necessarily reflect the official position of SJISSR.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

SJISSR follows a double-blind peer review policy. Reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process.

Reviewers should accept review assignments only within their areas of expertise. They are expected to evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, and in constructive academic language.

Reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest and inform the editor if such a conflict exists. They are expected to complete evaluations on time and provide fair, unbiased, and constructive feedback.

Reviewers must treat all manuscripts and related materials as confidential documents and must not use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

Artificial Intelligence Usage Ethics

SJISSR complies with the ethical regulations applicable in higher education institutions and follows the “Ethical Guidelines on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence” published by the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK).

Artificial intelligence systems, including generative AI tools, cannot be listed as authors and do not qualify for authorship. Authorship is limited to real individuals who have made substantial academic contributions to the conception, design, analysis, interpretation, and scientific accountability of the study.

If authors have used artificial intelligence tools for purposes such as language editing, drafting support, data visualization, translation, technical formatting, or similar assistance, this use must be transparently disclosed within the manuscript.

The use of AI tools does not eliminate or reduce the academic, ethical, or legal responsibility of the authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of all content submitted to SJISSR.

Fabrication of data, generation of false references, AI hallucination, manipulation, plagiarism, or any other violation of academic integrity arising from the use of artificial intelligence will be treated as an ethical violation.

Intellectual Property Responsibilities

Authors guarantee that their manuscripts do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any individual, institution, organization, or third party.

Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for copyrighted material used in their manuscripts, including figures, tables, scales, images, data, or previously published content.

SJISSR reserves the right to reject, withdraw, correct, or retract manuscripts and published articles in cases involving intellectual property violations.

Conflict of Interest and Retraction Policy

SJISSR is committed to protecting the integrity, impartiality, and transparency of the scholarly publication process. Authors, reviewers, editors, and members of the Editorial Board are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest that may influence the submission, evaluation, editorial decision, or publication of a manuscript.

Conflicts of interest may include, but are not limited to, financial relationships, institutional affiliations, academic competition, personal relationships, consultancy roles, funding sources, employment connections, or any other circumstance that could compromise or appear to compromise objective judgment. Authors must declare all sources of funding, institutional support, sponsorship, and relevant interests during submission. Reviewers and editors must inform the journal if they identify any conflict of interest and must withdraw from the evaluation or decision-making process when necessary.

If a conflict of interest is identified before publication, the Editorial Board may request additional disclosure, assign alternative reviewers or editors, suspend the evaluation process, or reject the manuscript depending on the nature and severity of the case.

SJISSR also follows a transparent correction, withdrawal, and retraction process in cases where serious ethical or scientific concerns arise. Articles may be corrected, withdrawn, or retracted if they involve plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, unauthorized use of copyrighted material, unethical research practices, undisclosed conflicts of interest, authorship disputes, serious methodological errors, misleading findings, or any other violation that compromises the reliability or integrity of the published work.

Retraction decisions are made by the Editorial Board after a careful review of the relevant evidence and, when necessary, communication with the author(s), reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties. If a published article is retracted, the retraction notice will clearly identify the article, explain the reason for retraction, and remain publicly accessible. Retraction does not remove the article from the scholarly record; rather, it ensures that readers are properly informed about the reliability and status of the publication.

Authors are expected to cooperate fully with the Editorial Board during any investigation concerning conflict of interest, correction, withdrawal, or retraction. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest or attempts to conceal ethical violations may result in rejection, retraction, notification of affiliated institutions, and restrictions on future submissions to the journal.
